Celebrity Style at Coachella 2017

Coachella came around as quickly as ever, giving us all a glimpse of hopeful summer sunshine and the festival season. What started off as a music festival itself has quickly become a fashion hub and a melting pot of celebrity presence, with a huge amount of style inspiration taken from this year’s Coachella, we’ll be putting aside the flower crowns…

Victoria’s Secret models practically took charge of Coachella (they even had their own hang-out spot called the Angel Oasis) and Lais Ribeiro and Taylor Hill especially looked sensational as a duo. Day 1 saw Taylor in a dusk pink maxi dress complete with headband and lace-up boots whilst Lais went with the bralet trend and paired lacy white with jet-black in the form of a skirt and sandals.

Chilling at The Hyde Away party – hosted by Republic Records and SBE and presented by Hudson and Bare Minerals – Emma Roberts channelled fresh, spring vibes in a lacy white Sea New York mini dress, complete with lace-up ankle boots and newly brunette hair.

Day 2 of the festival saw Hailey Baldwin absolutely kill it in all denim at the Revolve party, with a cropped jumper, statement earrings and subtle sparkly leggings channelling both grungy and glam.

At the star-studded party hosted by Pretty Little Thing x Paper magazine, Lucy Mecklenburgh, known for her role in The Only Way is Essex, took inspiration from the off-the-shoulder trend and made her appearance in this gorgeous blush-coloured dress that really complimented her tanned skin. Lucy held the balance between girly and grungy, completing the outfit with a fluffy clutch, black choker and black chunky heels.

Finally, Rihanna…oh, Rihanna. No-one is able to steal the show quite like her. Pics of the singer flooded the Internet after the fashion icon wore a rhinestone studded all-in-one by Gucci that covered everything, including Rihanna’s face. She kept the rest of the outfit fairly simple – obligatory denim shorts and tee as well as platform trainers, part of her collection for Fenty x Puma.

Trend Watch Elizabethan Splendour

Trend Watch Elizabethan Splendour

Lend your evening wardrobe sophisticated vibes this New Year’s Eve.  Take cue from Valentino’s AW16 Couture collection, inspired by romantic Elizabethan grandeur.

Ditch your stretchy glittery number and replace it with fitting regal taffeta and velvet.  These magnificent Valentino catwalk looks are easily achievable without the need to splash your cash; what is needed is plenty of panache and a little bit of planning.

Beautiful embroidered necklines, structured silhouettes and an eye for detail is all what it takes to make this trend work in your favour.

So whether you like in party in a maxi dress, in pair of tux trousers, or in a little black dress, romantic Elizabethan inspired attire will no doubt get you noticed on the biggest party of the year.

Maxi Dresses

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Don’t you just love them? Maxi dresses are one of my favourite quick fix make me feel good items in my wardrobe.   I mean how on earth could you go wrong with a maxi dress? They are a great way of covering all your body flaws especially when you have been unable to get that urgent waxing appointment.  Maxi dresses are also a sure way of looking absolutely glamorous when going out in the evening; and who can argue with the fact that a LBD (long black dress) is your one way ticket to a perfectly stunning dinner outfit?

A Maxi dress looks great on most body shapes and is also very flattering for expectant mothers; and hey if a maxi dress is good enough for Angelina Jolie, I’m sure it will be good enough for all of us unknown mortals.

Life in the fast fashion lane waits for no one, so just before I dash to start my early morning editorial quest, here is a list of my favourite designers and shops where you are bound to find the perfect Maxi dress:

Roberto Cavalli – Emilio Pucci – Monsoon – Great Plains – John Lewis – Debenhams – Wallis – J by Jasper Conran – Missoni – – Wallis – Issa – T-Bag – Ossie Clark – – Just Cavalli – Rick Owens – Milly – Dolce & Gabbana
