Cannes Film Festival 2017 Red Carpet Winners

May 24th, 2017

Cannes Film Festival 2017

The 70th annual Cannes Film Festival took place recently, transforming the popular beach resort in the South of France into a start-studded hotspot teeming with talent for a whopping eleven days. The festival spanning over such a long length of time allowed for a huge array of jaw-dropping red carpet moments; the younger generation – including the likes of Elle Fanning, Lily Collins and Lottie Moss – proved themselves on the red carpet whilst the ladies who have been on the film scene for longer, such as Julianne Moore, showed they still know how to absolutely kill it.

Nicole Kidman is one such lady. The Australian actress debuted four projects at the Cannes Film Festival this year, including two films in competition, a sci-fi film and a miniseries. One of her statement looks was an eye-catching sequined Rodarte dress which she wore at the premiere of How to Talk to Girls at Parties.

Fan Bingbing, eighth member of the film jury at Cannes stunned at the opening ceremony in an elegant blue gown by Elie Saab. The Chinese actress was a vision of elegance, pairing her dress with a berry lip and silver jewellery.

There are celebs who know how to play it safe and then celebs who love to raise eyebrows. Emily Ratajkowski sure turned heads during her first ever Cannes Film Festival, in what seemed to be a fusion of dress, jumpsuit and sultry black lace. The 25-year-old model opted for this look created by former Roberto Cavalli creative director, Peter Dundus, who is said to be soon launching his own line.

On the theme of turning heads, Aishwarya Rai practically snapped necks in Cannes whilst wearing a blue Cinderella-esque Michael Cinco gown, something of a work of art. The actress also made news for breaking the unwritten rule of wearing red on the red carpet, which we see on day two.

And on that note, Kendall Jenner, the 21-year-old supermodel, swept audiences away with the Giambattista Valli gown she wore at the premiere of 120 Beats Per Minute. The train of her dress billowed in the wind as Kendall posed for photos but didn’t quite manage to distract from the fact that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star somehow managed to get away with sheer socks and sandals on the red carpet.
