There is something very special about London Fashion Week, some might argue with the fact that “future street fashion and unusual trends begin somewhere on London’s catwalks”… I for one firmly believe that this is the case (and by the way my deeply rooted conviction has nothing do with the fact that I studied Fashion in London in the days when walking down Oxford Street dressed like “Boy George” was the thing to do!) No other show in Europe sees more young beginners and fresh graduates out of fashion colleges presenting collections alongside established names in the industry. This season is no exception. And with the all the expected hype and publicity that LFW is bound to attract when the designers show their spring and summer 2009 collections, one question lingers in my exhausted fashion editor’s mind, “can anyone please tell me, are there any empty seats left in any fashion designer’s house?”
In any case I promise to keep you all posted as the week progresses, and just before I go here is a list of all the catwalk shows which will kick off on Sunday the 14th of September.
