Miss Arab London 2011 Winner Sandra Jasmin Fashion Shoot for Stilorama Magazine

Stilorama Magazine spent the day with Miss Arab London 2011’s winner Sandra Jasmin at a photo shoot in London.  Sandra was thrilled to take part in this special fashion photo shoot which was styled by Stilorama.com.

Since winning Miss Arab London competition last November, Sandra has been concentrating on her studies and on also gaining some modelling experience, Sandra was also a guest on Moda Mia TV Show at London Fashion Week in February.

I spent the day with Sandra on set where we got to chat a little about her favourite designers and her plans for the future.  According to Sandra fashion is her biggest passion; when asked about her favourite designers, Sandra said that for costume jewellery and bags her top choice is Yves Saint Laurent, as for shoes Kurt Geiger is top of the list, Sandra also loves the house of Chanel for its stylish and timeless designs.

I also asked Sandra if she had any advice to give to young women who are considering a modelling career, she said that inner beauty is as important as outer beauty, and that young women should not neglect how they feel about their inner selves and most importantly how they portray themselves to the rest of the world.

I was very delighted to style Sandra for our shoot, and I chose some gorgeous summer outfits including a £575 pink print dress by Veronica Moncho Lobo, a £575 Blue animal print dress by Veronica Moncho Lobo, and a £650 Fuchsia coat also by Veronica Moncho Lobo.  Sandra also wore a feminine mint cardigan and a silk pink pencil skirt by Agnes b.

Our makeup artist for the day was Dorota Nowack  our photographers for the day were Shutters Photography

Kate Middleton in Pink at her first Buckingham Palace garden party

It seems that Kate Middleton is the Queen of style as far as fashion is concerned.  The Duchess of Cambridge is a champion when it comes to recycling her designer wardrobe and we just can’t get enough of her new approach to re-inventing her clothes to suit various state occasions.

Pictured here at her first Buckingham Palace garden party which took place yesterday, Catherine wore a beautiful pink dress by Emilia Wickstead which she teamed with a gorgeous pink pale hat by Jane Corbett, a pair of patent pumps and a matching clutch both by LK Bennett.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore the same pink dress 11 days before, at a reception in the Waterloo Chamber, at Windsor Castle, where she attended with her husband Prince William.

Kate Middleton’s pink dress by Emilia Wickstead will set you back £1200, so if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, here is a dress from www.topshop.com which retails at just £60, and a pair of patent court shoes from www.newlook.com retailing at just £17.99!

Best Dressed Wedding Guest

Shopping for a wedding guest outfit  is often tricky.  Whether you are the mother of the bride or a close family member, or whether the wedding is at a registry office or a great lavish banquet, choosing the perfect wedding guest dress or suit can at best times turn into a shopping dilemma.

As we approach the wedding season, here are some essential tips on how to look and feel great on a wedding day without the fear of overshadowing the bride.

Mother of the Bride: Being the mother of the bride is nerve wracking, and just like the bride all eyes will be on you, so here are some golden tips to take on board when shopping for your outfit:

Talk frankly to your daughter about the styles and colours that she would like you to wear. Discuss your ideas with the mother of the groom as you don’t want to end up wearing the same colours or indeed a very similar outfit.  Shop around and give yourself plenty of time.  If your budget is small consider department stores like John Lewis or Debenhams as they have a great stylish and affordable collection to choose from.  Think about renting a designer evening gown for the occasion, this is a cheaper option to buying a designer dress; and finally whatever you do, make sure that your choice of outfit doesn’t outshine the bride.

Guests:  Before you set off on a shopping spree for the right wedding guest outfit, consider the location and the theme of the wedding.  Here are some points to think through when shopping for your outfit.

If you are jetting off to warmer climates invest in beautiful natural fibres and avoid synthetics as they will make you feel uncomfortable and hot. The theme and the venue also play a big part, for example an extravagant evening gown won’t work for a registry office wedding. Stick to simple colourful dresses if the ceremony is an afternoon do. For evening receptions go for some sparkly sequins and glamorous metallic fabrics. Shop around and be creative, try to mix and match designers and high street, as you will be less likely to bump into somebody wearing the same outfit.

Ideas and Styles: For a day wedding reception: Satin dresses in bright and airy shades, floral dresses coupled with a jacket or cardigan, flirty feminine suits with short jackets.  For an evening wedding reception: long cocktail gowns, sequins dresses, metallic dresses.
