City Trend Los Angeles Style

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Stilorama Magazine’s Style Editor shops LA Style; she says “Los Angeles has everything a fashionista could wish for; the city is a shopping haven for trend setters and fashion followers alike.   Popular Los Angeles shopping streets include the Hollywood Boulevard area which is known for its famous department stores, while Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills is better know for its designer shops including Haute Couture clothing lines; Melrose Avenue is well known for its younger style fahionable shops which cater for a funkier and youthful clientelle.  And if you are looking for a cheaper way to shop you must visit Robertson Boulevard where you can find less expensive outlets.”

Trophy Winter Jewellery

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

According to Stilorama Magazine’s Accessories Editor Jodie Hart, The recession may still be the talking point of the town, but this season’s most covetable jewelled accessories come at statement prices.

She says “Whoever said that money can’t buy you happiness hasn’t set eyes on Louis Vuitton’s leather and jewelled paperchain necklace. It is sublime. Breathtakingly sensual cowskin leather and solid carat gold wrapping circles around your neck for the ultimate in winter bling. It’s like the M&S of Christmas decorations for your décolletage. And this is but the tip of the iceberg for jewellery trends in late 2009.

Think big, brassy and bold. Jewels and crystals are aplenty as designers opt for extravagance over elegance for winter’s costume jewellery. Trophy cuffs are chunky, metal and frightfully heavy, cocktail rings explore the depths of the sea as lobsters, shells and sea urchins feature heavily, and necklaces scream raw sex appeal in a multitude of golds, silvers and vintage brass. This season’s colour palette veers away from the sombre muted tones showing on the catwalks. Instead jewels are enriched with vibrancy. Tangerine oranges at Elsa Peretti for Tiffany, tempestuous turquoises at Chanel and Dior Fine Jewellery, and lustrous Arctic greys at Bottega Veneta.

Never before has accessorising your winter wardrobe been so important. As we struggle to keep our heads above water in this ghastly credit crunch, it seems costume jewellery is the most affordable way to update last season’s outfits. A few gold plated Perspex bangles here, a juicy crystal laden cocktail ring there; you could never overdo it.

Chanel’s quirky Deco inspired jade and metal cuff isn’t exactly economical, hitting the hefty £1,000 mark, but it would be worth breaking the bank for. Likewise Miu Miu have outdone themselves with their colourfully jewelled crystal and metal tribal inspired necklace. And Parisian designer Aurélie Biderman has gone back to nature with her leafy Plume de Cygne gold & enameled bracelet and minimalist butterfly earrings. Winter’s avant-garde jewellery is more bling than Kanye West on a shopping spree at Bloomingdales. The question is, are you ready to sparkle in the spotlight?”

Catwalk Trend Pure White

Friday, November 20th, 2009

For most fashion mortals, winter can sometimes mean one thing “a dark looking wardrobe”; trend savvy fashionistas tend to differ in opinion though, and when it comes to making a confident fashion statement pure white is the colour to go by.  Stilorama Fashion Magazine‘s Editor-In-Chief says “white clothes radiate confidence and bring out your professionalism especially at work, make sure you invest in designer outfits though as cheap white fabrics can make your wardrobe look  really tacky.”  Visit our popular fashion blog for more trend news and fashion reviews.

Catwalk Trend Winter Stripes

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Stylish stripes aren’t restricted to a nautical summer wardrobe; as a matter of fact stripes are also great for the winter months; unlike the predictable navy and white stripes, winter striped fabrics are a mixture of vibrant colours, fabric and textures.  This season we saw a return to the early 1980′s stripe mania with horizontal asymmetric metallic stripes on skirts and long jumpers or cardigans.  Stilorama Magazine’s fashion director says ” try not to overdo it by wearing too many striped fabrics at once, for best effect wear your stripes with velvet, jersey or wool.”  For more trendy catwalk news visit Britain’s most popular fashion blog.

Trend Watch Funky Fur

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

It comes as no surprise that fur is a big trend to follow this autumn and winter.  This warm soft fabric is a sure way to turn us into glamorous goddesses in an instant, and I am not talking about old fashioned fur coats, but the real style must-haves of the season.  From casual warm mongolian trim wool to cropped fake fur gilets.  As with most designers the real deal still applies and the most popular fur is the rabbit.  Stilorama Magazine’s Fashion Director Hala Di-Maio shops for her favourite fur of the season and she says “don’t fall victim to the old fashion school of thought; fur is more upbeat and is best worn as part of a casual outfit and during the day.  Mix it with leather, wool, tartan or simply wear it as an accessory like a scarf, a hat, gloves, trimmings on jackets or boots.”
